HELP US HELP LOUIE

Louie is at the Animal Medical Center in El Cajon.  He was hit by a car this past Thursday and then relinquished to animal control.  Animal control called Basset Rescue and we got him started on the road to recovery.  He will be having surgery Monday January 28th to repair a broken hip.  He is expected to make a complete recovery.  His estimate for the surgery is $1,800.  That does not include the x-rays and medications before and after Monday.  I am asking that you please download Louie’s flyer and place it where it can reach people that can donate.  Donations can be made directly to the Animal Center or for a tax deduction to Basset Hound Rescue & Adoption, Inc.  We can receive cash, checks and Visa and Master Card. If interested please contact Jerri Caswell at 619-286-8638 or visit our web site at www.bassetrescuesandiego.org.

Louie is 1  1/2 years old and a real sweet boy. No complaints and not even a curled lip with all his pain. / Please help us help him.

Logo Contest

Are you or any of your friends creative and good with computer graphics?  We are looking for your help to create a logo for The Ambassetor Newsletter.  The logo should convey the ambassadorial spirit of our newsletter and of course be basset hound related.  All entries must be the submitters original work and free of copyright restrictions.  If we pick your design, you will receive a $50 gift certificate to the Cheesecake Factory.

Please submit all entries via e-mail to tony@bassetrescuesandiego.org by February 28, 2008.

Adoptable Houndies

We currently have 5 very adoptable bassets looking for homes.  Ellwood is a young at heart 8 year old male, Droopy is a lil 6 year old male, Jill is a shy 6 year old female, Daisy is a petite 7 year old female and Cali is a spunky young female.  Please help us to spread the word about these great bassets.

More information on these bassets and the adoption process are available on our web site.

Success Stories

The last couple of months have been very, very busy for our rescue.  Even with the holidays we still managed to place 12 basset hounds in forever homes: Mariah, Houdini, Homer, Callie, Jack, Shiloh, Herbie, Penny, Harold, Lisa, Phoebe and Sadie.  A big thank you goes out to all of the families who adopted and of course our foster families who graciously open their homes to shelter, feed, walk, train and love the relinquished and rescued bassets.

If you would like to help us out and become a foster family, even if only occasionally, please drop Jerri an e-mail at: jerri@bassetrescuesandiego.org.
