RESCUE NEWS

Louie Update - February 1, 2008

Louie finally had surgery last night to repair his broken hip. The surgery did not finish until midnight. Louie is now resting and starting the long recovery process. He will remain at the Animal Medical Center of East County for several more days and then go to his foster home to get strong again and continue rehabilitation. If you would like to make a donation for his care using a credit card, you can call the Animal Medical Center directly at (619) 444-4246.

Louie Update (He Still Needs Our Help) - January 31, 2008

Well Louie has not had surgery yet. He was found to have broken ribs that are affecting his breathing. His doctors want to wait until he feels a little better before putting him under. Surgery will be ok once his ribs have healed a bit and he can breathe easier. The poor boy is such a trooper and a very brave soul. He gives Jerri little kisses when she comes to visit him and has been getting better over the week. We think he will now have his surgery on Friday, February 1st.

Louie will need to be in the hospital for at least 1 week longer then expected, so the bill is going to be higher...probably closer to $2,500. We have received a tremendous response from our many supporters and have now received over $900 in contributions. Thank you very much! Tax deductible contributions can be sent to Basset Hound Rescue & Adoption, P.O. Box. 601304, San Diego, CA 92160. Include a note that the donation is for Louie's medical fund

Boy this is no fun at all! I can't wait to get fixed up.

Louie Needs Your Help - January 24, 2008

We just received Louie from animal control after he was hit by a car and turned in for euthanasia by his family. Fortunately his broken hip and other injuries are completely repairable and we have taken responsibility for his care. However, the veterinarian bills will be huge and we are asking for your help. For more information please read about Louie.
