ANNUAL BASSET RESCUE PICNIC

Each year on the first Saturday of June, Basset Hound Rescue of San Diego holds their annual fund raising picnic. This year we moved to our new location at Allied Gardens Park & Recreation Center. The new location was a great success and offered us more parking and larger areas of shade where we could all spread out and enjoy the wonderful events of the day. We hope you made it, but even if you didn't you can check out our 2008 Picnic Photo Album. Don't miss the good stuff at the end....Arooohhh.

Basset Rescue Picnic

Families can buy gourmet picnic food prepared by local restauranteur Deborah Scott or bring picnic lunches to eat (while they try to keep the dogs away!), swap amusing stories with fellow Basset enthusiasts, shop at the Basset Boutique, or enter the raffle to win fabulous prizes.

Bassets frolic in the sun, splash in a wading pool, get a massage, have their photo taken with their family, or compete in contests such as best costume, best howl, longest ears, best trick, owner look-alike, or the ever-popular basset race.

All donations received at the picnic go back into the rescue operation. We are now officially a non-profit organization so your donations are tax deductible! These funds are needed to cover emergency medical costs, and any other expenses the dogs may incur prior to adoption that are not covered by the $200 donation.

Well...longest ears again, duh!

I won best trick? What did I do?
